How Web-On-Call Works

Use Standard Phones

Using standard voice modems and analog telephone lines, Web-On-Call Voice Browser can make virtually any Web server automatically answer telephone calls with, "Welcome to (Company Name) Voice Browser."

Example of How It Works

From the greeting, callers are prompted for simple touch-tone responses such as "For general information about this site, press 1; to navigate to the document of your interest, press 2; to identify a document by its number, press 3...." Once a caller reaches the destination document, it can be read over the phone using text synthesizing or human recorded voice, faxed back, sent as an e-mail attachment, or sent via postal mail.

Web-On-Call Voice Browser doesn't require any training to use. End-users already know how to use it because it works using widely-known telephone response techniques and friendly prompts.

Voice Browsing

Web-On-Call(tm) Voice Browser doesn't replace GUI based Web browsing for your audience. In fact, it augments your Web offerings by adding rich audio, complete with emotion, pace, pitch, and ear-pleasing sounds to your site for both current Web surfers and non-surfers. But most important of all, Web-On-Call Voice Browser is the first software application that gives virtually every person in the world access to the Internet.
